Financial Hardship Policy

The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) is committed to providing current legal and medical education to those who work in the pro-life ministry. We also remain mindful of the economic crisis that we all face.
As such, NIFLA has approved a financial hardship policy that allows NIFLA the discretion to waive the registration fee of the National Leadership Summit offered on May 4-7, 2026, depending on the circumstances.
Under this policy, pregnancy center staff members, volunteers, or attorneys who have a genuine financial hardship may apply, in writing, explaining the basis of his/her hardship.
Requests should be sent directly to Thomas A. Glessner, President, NIFLA, at summit@nifla.org or 10333 Southpoint Landing Blvd., #107, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
Requests for a financial waiver of the National Leadership Summit registration fee must be received at least 30 days before the start of the event.

Implicit Bias in Healthcare

As required by California law, the following definition of implicit bias is included:

Definition: “Implicit bias, meaning the attitudes or internalized stereotypes that affect our perceptions, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner, exists, and often contributes to unequal treatment of people based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, and other characteristics. Implicit bias contributes to health disparities by affecting the behavior of physicians and surgeons, nurses, physician assistants, and other healing arts licensees.” Cal. Code Regs. Tit.16, §1450

Once we know about the potential for implicit bias, we can strive to ensure all patients are treated respectfully and with the best possible healthcare. All people are made in the image and likeness of God the almighty. Therefore, we must make sure there is no discrimination on any basis. All centers should have a policy like this: “The PC does not discriminate against clients on the basis of sex, race, color, ancestry, religious creed, national origin, physical disability (including HIV/AIDS), sexual orientation, mental disability, medical condition, age or marital status.”
